Recipe of onion paratha or Pyaaz Ka paratha

The paratha is a flat bread which is made from wheat flour and baked on a tawa. This paratha originated in the Indian subcontinent. Paratha is eaten by people in their breakfast. So, it is their important and tasty breakfast. Paratha is served with pickle, curd and any daal. It is made with ghee or oil and we can also bake it in the oven in place of a tawa. Paratha is stuffed with aloo, peas, paneer, onions, gobhi and chilies.

Onion paratha is also known as pyaaz Ka paratha. This is one of the most popular paratha which is made in Punjabi homes. Moreover, it is easy to make this paratha because it is made with onions and  these onions are easily available at every home.

I am fond of making and eating paratha.
I have tried different types of paratha but as far as onion paratha is concerned
I make this paratha first time and have shared on my blog post.

As we know that paratha is made from wheat flour (atta) and with the use of this flour we can prepare different varieties of parathas just by filling material in a kneaded dough. There are many types of paratha such as aloo Ka paratha,mooli Ka paratha, veg paratha,daal paratha, bathua paratha and band gobi wala paratha etc. Now we will discuss about onion paratha in detail.

INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING PYAAZ KA PARATHA

1. 2 cup of Wheat flour (atta)
2. Water as required
3. three teaspoons of ghee
4. Two medium size onions
5. Two to three green chilies (chopped)
6. One teaspoon of spice
7. Two teaspoons of coriander leaves
8. Salt to taste

PREPARATION FOR ONIONS PARATHA

1. Firstly, mix some ghee with flour and also add some water.
2. Now start to knead the dough with water . You should knead it to a smooth and crack free dough.
3. When dough is kneaded, keep this dough aside for 10 minutes.
4. Chop onions, green chilies and coriander leaves.
5. Then mix onions, green chilies. Also add salt, spice and coriander leaves.

Stuffing for paratha

IMPORTANT NOTE BEFORE MAKING ONIONS PARATHA

1. You should keep in mind that the onions should be chopped properly. If onions not chopped properly, then you can not roll the paratha properly.
2. To give it an extra taste, you can also add coriander leaves and ajwain in the mixture of onions and chilies.

HOW TO MAKE ONION PARATHA

1. The first step is to ready all the ingredients that are required for making paratha.
2. Take some mixture of wheat flour into your hands and shape it into a ball.

3. Now flat this ball with your hands and roll it into 5 inches. Place onion stuffing on it and keep 1 to 2 inch space from all sides.

4. Take the edge and start pleating, press the pleats from the centre.


5. Sprinkle some flour and roll  this stuffed paratha same size as that of a roti.

6. Place this rolled paratha on a tawa. This paratha starts to cook .Flip this paratha, when paratha is partly cooked and spread a ghee on it.




7. When another part is partly cooked, flip it again and spread a ghee on this side. Cook both sides of paratha by fliping again and again. 



Repeat this process to make paratha with the rest of the dough.

Recipe of Gazrela , Recipe of Carrot Halwa and Gajor Ka halwa

Before making Gazrela you should know that what is Gazrela and in which season it is consumed by people. Gazrela is also called gazar Ka halwa and carrot halwa. It is a carrot based sweet dish which belongs to the Indian subcontinent. This Gazrela is made with crushed carrots, ghee, nuts and milk. We can serve this Gazrela with a garnish of almonds. People eat Gazrela only in the winter season because it is made from carrots and carrots are grown in the fields and harvested in the winter season.
Most of the people thought that winters are incomplete if they don't eat Gazrela.

We can serve it hot or cold. Moreover, there are many causes due to which most of the people likes to eat this  gazar Ka halwa. First of all, it is a vegetarian dish, many people don't like to eat non-veg.  Secondly, it is very tasty to eat and easy to make Gazrela. Thirdly, it is a light sweet dessert and having low in fat. So, Gazrela is a popular sweet dessert all over India. It is liked by everyone whether they are adult or children we can serve it on marriage, festivals and any other celebration but only in winter season.

INGREDIENTS

1. Crushed carrots 2.5 kg
2. A half kg of ghee
3. Powder of 10 cardamoms
4. Sugar 1 kg
5. 4 cup of milk

As you know that Gazrela is made with milk ghee and sugar but we can make it with and without milk. It gives best taste if you add almonds and milk in it. Gazrela 's recipe is easy and simple.

TIPS KEEP IN MIND FOR MAKING GAZRELA

1. You should use large pan instead of small pan. If you use large pan, then it is easy for you to stir carrots  and the mixture prevents from burning.
2. It is important to buy fresh, Juicy and good quality of carrots. Such types of carrots are easy to peel and grate.

PREPARATION FOR GAZRELA

1. First of all, rinse and peel the carrots properly. Now grate these carrots either with a hand  or in a food processor.
2. Take 10 cardamoms, remove the husk and crushed seeds properly to a pure powder.

How TO MAKE GAZRELA WITHOUT MILK

1. Peel and grate carrots. I grate these carrots with a grater.




2. Take a large pan  and heat a half kg of ghee in this pan. I have used pure desi ghee which is homemade. Heat it about 10 minutes.

3. Add 2 and a half kg of  grated carrots to the hot ghee and cook these carrots in the ghee.

4. After 10 minutes, add 1 kg of sugar and cardamom powder and mix it well with carrots. Cook till sweet smell arise from these carrots . Continue to stir and cook carrots about 20 minutes.


5. Put off the flame, when carrots cooked properly as shown in the picture. Now your Gazrela is ready to eat.


CARROT HALWA WITH MILK

1. Add the grated carrots in a large pan and pour 4 cup of milk.
2. Now stir the mixture of carrots and milk
and set the flame to high.
3. Continue to stir and you will see that the milk starts reducing slowly and slowly.
4. When the mixture will be reduced upto
50 percent, the add 1 kg of sugar in it and also add cardamom powder.
5. More quantity of milk that is added  by us will reduce, continue to stir till the mixture becomes dry.
